Popping Candy

popping_candy.jpgIt is nice sometimes to give a kid a candy which he never had before and look at his mixed reactions as he experiences this new candy. The popping candy or space dust or moon rocks as they are so called is a candy which when you would put it into your mouth, would start popping and this would give you a feeling of eating tiny air bombs.

The manufacture of popping candy is done by infusing carbon-dioxide gas into a slightly moisturized sugar base, which is all done under high temperature and pressure. The sugar base is one which already has a flavor; such has orange, cola or strawberry. This mixture is then cooled under very high pressure. The end product is therefore a flavored sugar with pressurized carbon dioxide bubbles within. When this candy is put into your mouth, the candy quickly dissolves rendering the selective flavor and also releasing the bubbles as popping and bursting into your mouth.

The prank that you can play out with popping candy is when you can make a person unexpectedly pop this candy into his mouth and then he will look with wonder all around as the candy begins to pop. You can use this to fill it into to dry fruits and keep it on the table for an unsuspecting person to walk in, pick one up, pop it into his mouth and as he bites into the dry fruit the popping will begin and so will the fun. You can also give this to your little brother, who should be at least two years old and you can then watch him run to mum and dad, complaining that you gave him something nasty, saying that it was candy.

Popping candy can even be used on cakes by cutting them across the middle and instead of using a cream base you can fill it with popping candy, which will make those who bite into the cake feel kind of weird as the candies pop in their mouth. Even if you find someone sleeping with their mouth open, then you may seize the opportunity to empty a small pack of popping candy into his mouth and watch him wake up in a few seconds with complete surprise.
